JAY A. BENDER Criminal Experience:Mr. Bender served as an Assistant District Attorney for three different elected District Attorneys in two different counties. He has tried many types of criminal cases ranging from class "B" misdemeanors to first degree felonies which carry the possibility of a life sentence. He has tried these cases to almost 100 juries and countless more to the various county and district judges in both Collin and Dallas counties.
While at the Dallas County District Attorney's Office, Mr. Bender was assigned to the Organized Crime Division. He also was one of only two prosecutors working Cyber Crimes. Mr. Bender's experience goes beyond the courtroom, as he has provided instruction about DWI/DUI, jury selection, drug cases, and various other topics. He is particularly passionate about advocating on behalf of individuals rights to carry weapons, particularly those with concealed handgun licenses (CHL).
